Possible error?[edit]

The article says: Until 1991, Ulan-Ude was city closed to foreigners.

Yet Ulan-Ude is on the Trans-Siberian Railway which was not closed for foreigners. So how coult the city be closed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.205.146.27 (talk) 23:52, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Location[edit]

is located at the foot of the mountains

What mountains? -- Zoe

The nearest mountain range of any great height are the 'Sayan' range which are predominantly south west of Ulan Ude. The city itslf is surrounded by the foothills of this range. -- Jon

Sister Cities[edit]

I noticed that one of the sister cities is Manchuria, China; but Manchuria is a region in China, not a city (at least that's what the link tells me). If there is a city known as Manchuria, the article should direct there instead of the entire region in China. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.54.115.185 (talk) 18:46, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks for catching that! The link should have been to Manzhouli (which in Russian is spelled exactly the same as the name of the Manchuria region).—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); June 30, 2011; 18:55 (UTC)

Nuclear arsenal ?[edit]

I found on Google Earth a big arsenal on 51°50'10"N, 107°45'50"E - probably a nuclear one (because of the triple fence + double sandy strips around the whole big facility - about 200 buildings !) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.98.118.210 (talk) 19:23, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
